| I tried Quake Live. It's a nice game, but friends of mine told me to try quake 3 arena and ... wow this game is old but so amazing and active ! It's like quake live but with so more maps and mods. You should give it a try. |

RTCW is one of the best FPS imo too.
Most 1.4 people play shrubmod now. But if you are interested, there are some competition like the rtcw-cup or the nation cup.

I agree OSP is a great mod, but S4ndmod (1.0) isn't bad too. It has Punkbuster, high map and files speed download (100kb/s instead of 12kb/s, the game really need it !) and some other nice stuffs. |

Having played RTCW competitively at a reasonably high level in my former life I cannot get myself to play anything else than 1.4 OSP... so I rarely play at all.
I've found a new life playing QuakeLive, although I do miss the RTCW days! Still the best game imho... |

You probably know it, but the most active rtcw version is 1.0. Poeple see the different versions like that : 1.0 for the fun and 1.4 for competition.
Personally I play both of the version, because 1.4 is sometimes empty  |

I just could watch my work looking so crappy, so I put in a bit of effort to apply some quick fixes.
I had to work with something which is basically broken, but I'm pleased with the effort/result ratio. 
Still plan to do something nice in the future!  |

Yes, I intend to give this site a nice update. It may take a while though, 'cos I have a backlog of sites that need overhaul and some other things to do as well.
I put this crappy site back up because I feel it's important to preserve this information. RTCW is still the best team-based MP game out there imho. So yes, I will keep it alive. I still have my ET, ET:QW and QuakeLive configs laying around which I would like to share with the community. |

The line: r_recommendedset = to set everything to the recommended settings of wolfenstein, it auto sets the best settings for you. that's what this line does.
it optimizes graphics for you. it's "Recommended set(tings)". |

Hey Redtop,
just wanted to say thanks for this great site, i still use it from time to time to fool around with my config. This beautiful game is still installed on my pc and still playing it and experiencing great gameplay although there arent that many players left.
